National Principals Month: Casey Cheramie
To celebrate National Principals Month, we're sharing some fun facts about our amazing school administrators. Today you’ll learn more about Mrs. Casey Cheramie, principal of Raceland Lower Elementary School.
Here’s the inside scoop on Mrs. Cheramie:
🦝 She’s been a principal for five and a half years.
🦝 She says the most rewarding part of being a principal is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with students and staff. These connections help create a positive school climate where every student feels safe, valued, and loved. “At RLES, we've found that this is our natural recipe for helping our students grow and succeed. The best part of my day is walking the halls and being randomly blessed with fist bumps, high-fives, and hugs—small moments that remind me of the strong, caring community we've built together.”
🦝 Her favorite subject in school was math. “In the 7th grade, I had the pleasure of having Ms. Debra Chiasson as my math teacher and she made learning so much fun. I always loved math but that year made math come alive for me.”
🦝 Her favorite school lunch is shrimp gumbo.
🦝 Visiting Paris one day is on her bucket list.
🦝 Outside of work, she enjoys spending time on her farm with her family and her fur babies.
🦝 Fun Fact: She is a great tractor driver while working on the farm.
